what kind of line should I use?

I am new to st. Croix avid 6 "9 'medium power fast action rod. I have also just pflueger new Patriarch baitcasting reel. I'm going to cast smallmouths and Walleye. Should I use Mono or dinner in coach? I am only a baitcaster used before in my Muskie rod. One to throw more beautiful than another? I know the differences between the lines, just wondering if anyone has experience about what they want? Thank you!

I only use 12 pound test, and even my baitcasters, but if the price and you can use a smaller go to a good fluorocarbon (Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon or BPS100%). Fish can not see it just as well in the water and offers a good wear resistance and low stretch. Fluoride is good for the leaders, if you want to use mono. Mono I would go with Trilene XT 12 lb, 8 lb is a spinning reel.
