Fish for 25 years with spinning reels now change the two bait casting! What are the advantages and disadvantages of the bait-bike wheel?
Scoop covered most it! (Nice job) Here's my 2 cents: Pro's-When a lot of practice, you start to notice that the bait-casters can be very accurate. Bait casters are also the only one coil, you can easily "feather" with heavy lures, (fringes example: If you want half OZ Spinnerbait come without a lot of water "Noise and splash"). And you must use a baitcaster and "Walk the Dog" and Topwater lure! They are generally more durable than Spinning reels, (cheap BC will take much longer than the low-cost spinning outfit). They work exceptionally well heavy lures and heavier line sizes. Cons: difficult to manage. They do not work very well for the line is less than 14LB. BC's pulling systems can easily wear out over time (a lot like the bail-rotating systems dresses). They are not designed for finesse fishing. I tend to use my BC's heavy lures, Spinnerbait n, n Topwater, Flippin '& Deep Crankin '. I get to use spinning outfits soft plastic worming, lite jigs, "Skipping" yards "Rapala" lite fishing and general solution performance is. I hope this helps ya? Good luck!

is the best fishing reel Shimano thorium in the 1930 tarpon redfish king fish grouper snapper and sailfish?

(I think) Shimano TLD or TLD 2 speed is much more versatile than thorium. TLD 2 Speed is fantastic "upper middle" range of roller, which has the ability (and gearing) to combat Kings, Grouper, sails, etc. I'm guessing you want this disc swing double duty as the bottom bouncer and the controller? Definitely TLD 2 Speed! (If you were not only Troll Kings, Mahi, sails, Wahoo, ETC only I'd suggest you save money and buy two Shimano Speed Masters!) PS-I guess people have had good luck Daiwa "Saltist". You might also look at these. Go http://www.basspro.com UPDATE: Although the TLD is more expensive it is 2 speed. When you try to get 30 LB Grouper out of the dark lower gear disc comes mighty handy! On the other hand, you get a faster line retrieve Sail, Wahoo, King, Tarpon, etc. You would need more money to the bottom fishing trolling reel AND Discus .................

210lr Daiwa reels, how old and had a good or not?
My mother gave me 210lr reel and rod, which was my fathers. I took it home to clean it up works well. My father passed away 11 years ago. I was just trying to see if they were good rolls or not and how old he got back Some of what comes fishing in mid-80's going to use it only going to put it in my den.
210 was a very popular spincast coil. Dating to the mid 80's is about right. Most spincast reels as "kids" or "newbies" wheel, and many of them were / did not do everything well. 210 was an exception. This reel was a very good quality compared to most of the other, and it should still be fine to use Today, if you choose.
