(I think) Shimano TLD or TLD 2 speed is much more versatile than thorium. TLD 2 Speed is fantastic "upper middle" range of roller, which has the ability (and gearing) to combat Kings, Grouper, sails, etc. I'm guessing you want this disc swing double duty as the bottom bouncer and the controller?
